Welcome to Dr. John Hu

Welcome to Dr. John Hu

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) warmly welcomes Dr. John Hu as its newest assistant professor. Dr. Hu specializes in the broad area of signal electronics with particular emphasis on energy efficient edge devices, hardware security, Nyquist and oversampled ADC’s, energy harvesting, and secure IoT devices. As with so many ECE professors, Dr. Hu has significant industrial experience—currently as a Staff Engineer at Qualcomm and previously as a Member of the Technical Staff at Maxim Integrated and a Design Engineer at Texas Instruments. Each of these positions afforded him the opportunity to gain significant expertise in mixed-signal IC design. Dr. Hu received his PhD from The Ohio State University in 2010 after successfully defending his dissertation entitled “CMOS High Efficiency On-chip Power Management.”

Dr. Hu will be a member of ECE’s electronics, circuits, and solid state team. As a mixed-signal specialist, he will have many opportunities to build out the School’s research programs in both the digital and analog spaces, and to form collaborations across the college. The School looks forward to his expertise being shared with our undergraduate and graduate students.

We are excited to have John on the ECE team and a member of the OSU community.
