H. Jack Allison

It is with deep sorrow we note the passing of Professor H. Jack Allison on Monday October 21, 2019.

Jack came to OSU from Louisiana State University as an instructor in 1961.  He rose through the ranks – Assistant Professor (1966-1970), Associate Professor (1970-1976) and Professor until he retired in 2005.

Over the 44 years of service, he was adored by his students for his teaching, wit and wisdom.

Jack spent a year (1980-1981) as a Policy Analyst in National Science Foundation, Washington.

He was involved in OSU’s renewable energy research and taught primarily in the field of electronics.

Jack will be missed by his large group of friends, colleagues, students and especially his two sons – Jeremy and Christopher and their families. He left an indelible legacy in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
