Employment Opportunities

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks outstanding OSU students to serve as teaching assistants, research assistants, graders, and hourly workers. The number of open positions varies from semester to semester and is subject to available funding. Employment opportunities for other positions (e.g., faculty, staff, post-docs, etc.) are announced on OSU Human Resource web pages.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA’s): Graduate students seeking to be employed as a GTA should submit their name, contact information, and resume to Ms. Sherri Buntin (sherri.buntin@okstate.edu). The School only processes GTA applications from students who 1) have a BSEE or BSCpE degree (or equivalent degree) from a recognized university and 2) are currently matriculated in the School as a PhDEE, MSEE or MEngEE major.

Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA’s): Graduate students seeking to be employed as a GRA should contact individual ECE professors. Many professors post GRA vacancy announcements on their research web pages, their office doors, or public bulletin boards and social media platforms. Each ECE professor determines the necessary qualifications to be employed as a GRA in his/her laboratory.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU’s):  Undergraduate students seeking to be employed as a research assistant should contact individual ECE professors. Many professors post REU vacancy announcements on their research web pages, their office doors, or public bulletin boards and social media platforms. Each ECE professor determines the necessary qualifications to be employed as a REU in his/her laboratory.

Graders and Hourly Employment: Students seeking to be employed as a grader or as an hourly employee should submit their name, contact information, and resume to Ms. Sherri Buntin (sherri.buntin@okstate.edu). The School only processes applications from students who are currently matriculated in the School as a BSEE, BSCpE, MSEE, MEngEE, or PhDEE major.

Work-Study Employment: Students seeking to be employed as an hourly employee under the Federal Work-Study Program should submit their name, contact information, and resume to Ms. Sherri Buntin (sherri.buntin@okstate.edu). The School processes applications from all OSU students who are officially part of the OSU Federal Work-Study Program.
