Dr. Matloff's Bio: Professor Matloff is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, a Member of the International Academy of Astronautics and a Hayden Associate at the American Museum of Natural History. His most recent books, co-authored with Italian researcher Dr. Giovanni Vulpetti and Les Johnson, are Solar Sails: A Novel Approach to Interplanetary Travel, Springer (2015) and Starlight, Starbright: Are Stars
Conscious? (Curtis, Norwich, UK, 2015). In addition to his interstellar-travel research, he has contributed to SETI (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), modeling studies of human effects on Earth’s atmosphere, interplanetary exploration concept analysis, alternative energy, in-space navigation, the search for extra solar planets, and Earth Defense from Asteroid Impacts. He has authored more than 130 scientific
papers and reports.
If you plan on attending, you need to sign up and pay in advance at the ECE Main Office prior to 5:00 pm, Friday, 7 April. We expect to have some additional seats available for sale at the door, but admission at the door is not guaranteed.
